I had been working with a large firm for YEARS all to get a letter that said wish you well in the future. Now Casper, Casper & Casper have took action immediately and have been more than proactive in my case in less than month. The fastest offer is the cheapest one
Serving Mason and the surrounding Warren County area from our nearby Cincinnati office.
Mason is a commuter suburb, and the collisions here happen at the speeds that busy roads and interchanges produce. Those are the crashes that do real damage, and they are also the ones insurers move on quickly.
A check in the first two weeks is attractive for obvious reasons. Bills have started, work has stopped, and the sum on offer is a real number against a situation that is entirely uncertain. That is precisely the calculation the timing is meant to produce.
What it buys is everything that comes afterwards. Once you accept and sign, the claim is closed: the injection nobody has recommended yet, the surgery that turns out to be necessary, the months of reduced earnings, and the shoulder that never quite comes back. None of that reopens because it turned out worse than anyone thought.
The question worth asking is not whether the offer is a lot of money. It is whether anybody yet knows what the injury is.

The early offer belongs to the first of these. Read the page before you answer the call.
Claims in Mason
Mason is an affluent city and its claims reflect that: well-insured households, serious collisions on fast roads, and insurers who know a represented claimant when they see one.
Mason is in Warren County, so a claim that does not settle is heard at the Warren County Court of Common Pleas at 500 Justice Drive in Lebanon.
None of that changes the clock. Ohio generally allows two years from the date a personal injury claim arises to bring it (Ohio Revised Code § 2305.10), and two years from the date of death in a wrongful death claim (§ 2125.02). A generous early offer does not extend either. General information about the law rather than advice on your situation.

Questions from Mason
General information, not legal advice. Every case turns on its own facts. The only way to know where yours stands is to have someone look at it.
How do I know if an offer is reasonable?
You generally cannot until the medical position is clear, which is the point. What can be assessed straight away is whether the offer was made before the treatment was finished, whether it accounts for time off work, and whether anybody has valued what happens if the injury is permanent.
If I turn down the offer, does it disappear?
That is the fear the timing relies on. Declining an early offer does not usually end the negotiation, and a claim that is properly documented is not weaker for having taken longer. Ask before you sign rather than after.
I have already signed something. Is it too late?
Tell us what you signed and when. Some documents are a release that closes everything and some are a medical authorization that does not. The two are not the same and people are often not sure which one they were handed.
