Before you get in touch

The four things people ask us most before they make contact.

It costs nothing to ask

The consultation is free and carries no obligation. Plenty of people contact us simply to find out whether they have something worth pursuing, and that is a perfectly good reason to call.

Nothing out of your pocket

Our work is handled on a contingency fee: it is paid out of what is recovered, and if there is no recovery there is no fee. No hourly bills, no retainer to get started.

It is quick to start

The form asks for your name, how to reach you, and a short description of what happened. You do not need records, dates or documents to hand.

If it is not our kind of case

We will tell you, and try to point you somewhere better. Stringing someone along while a deadline runs would be the worst thing we could do.

Questions

Questions people ask first

General information, not legal advice. Every case turns on its own facts. The only way to know where yours stands is to have someone look at it.

Does the consultation cost anything?

No. The consultation is free and there is no obligation attached to it. You are not signing anything by getting in touch, and you are not committing to bringing a claim. Plenty of people contact us simply to find out whether they have something worth pursuing, and that is a perfectly good reason to call.

Do I have to pay anything up front?

No. Our work is handled on a contingency fee: the fee is a share of what is recovered for you and is paid out of that recovery. If there is no recovery, there is no fee. You will not receive an hourly bill and you are not asked for a retainer to get started. Disability claims work slightly differently. The fee there is set by federal statute, is contingency only, and is the lesser of 25% not to exceed the statutory maximum of $9,200, taken from past-due benefits when they are awarded. The principle is the same: nothing out of your pocket to begin.

How long does it take?

The form takes about two minutes. It asks for your name, how to reach you, and a short description of what happened. That is enough for us to work out whether we can help and what to ask you next. You do not need documents, records or dates to hand before you start.

What happens after I submit?

A member of the team reaches out to you, goes through what happened in more detail, and connects you with the attorney whose work fits your situation. If anything is time-sensitive: a deadline that is close, a denial letter with an appeal period running, say so and we will treat it that way.

What if my case is not the kind you handle?

We will tell you, and we will try to point you somewhere better. We concentrate on vehicle accidents, Social Security disability and Ohio workers’ compensation. Other kinds of injury claim: dog bites, slips and falls, premises cases: are not our focus, and stringing someone along while a deadline runs would be the worst thing we could do. A straight answer costs you one short conversation.

Is what I tell you confidential?

Inquiries are treated as confidential. Note that contacting us does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship, that begins when we agree to act for you and it is put in writing. Until then, avoid sending sensitive original documents.

Can I just call instead?

Yes, and if your situation is urgent that is the better route. The number is at the top of every page and beside every form on this site, and our four offices are listed with their own direct lines. The form exists because not everyone can take a call during the working day, not because calling is second best.

I have already spoken to an insurance company. Is it too late?

Almost certainly not. Speaking to an adjuster, or even giving a recorded statement, is not the same as settling a claim. What matters far more is what happens from here. If you have been sent anything to sign, do not sign it until someone has read it with you.

Casper, Casper & Casper were all very professional when I had to speak with them and they made me feel just as important as everyone else's case. They helped me tremendously in a reasonable amount of time. I also was impressed how they get right to the point, no beating around the bush, I appreciate that.
